Feel free to contact us – we will respond via email and may include your question in our FAQ for the benefit of other clients.
1. Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?
Safety Comes First
Laser hair removal is a proven and safe method to effectively and permanently reduce unwanted hair. At Skin Clinic Dermonde, we use the Quanta System Thunder MT, a state-of-the-art laser system designed specifically for hair removal on all skin types.
This advanced system combines two laser sources:
Alexandrite Laser – ideal for lighter skin types and fine hair
Nd:YAG Laser – optimal for darker skin tones and deeply rooted hairs
What makes this system unique is the ability to mix both laser sources, allowing your specialist to perfectly tailor the treatment parameters to your individual skin type. This ensures maximum safety and efficiency, with no compromise.
Side Effects & Safety Measures
Laser treatment is generally well tolerated. In rare cases, temporary pigment changes may occur, particularly if the skin has been exposed to UV radiation before or after treatment.
To minimize risk of pigment changes:
Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds at least 4 weeks before and after treatment
Use high sun protection (SPF 50) on the treated area
Your treating specialist will review these points in detail. Honest disclosure about your UV exposure is crucial for your safety and the success of your treatment.
Certified Experts for Your Treatment
All treatments are performed exclusively by federally certified laser therapists. Our specialists have extensive experience with the Thunder MT system and are specifically trained to customize every session for your skin type.
Important pre-treatment information:
Inform us about any medications, as some can make your skin more sensitive to light
Our experts will guide you professionally through the entire process and provide valuable tips for a safe and comfortable experience
2. Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?
The sensation during laser hair removal varies from person to person and also depends on the area being treated.
Maximum Comfort & Efficiency with the Thunder MT Laser System
Our Thunder MT system is equipped with a highly advanced scanner that delivers 36 precisely placed laser pulses within seconds, each covering an area of only 9 × 9 mm.
No overlap:
The scanner places each pulse perfectly side by side, ensuring no area is treated twice. This eliminates the risk of skin overheating.Higher efficiency:
Because the energy is distributed with extreme precision, a higher performance level can be used compared to traditional handpieces—without unnecessary stress on the skin.
What Does the Treatment Feel Like?
Unlike diode lasers or IPL devices, the sensation with the Thunder MT feels very different.
You will clearly feel that only the hair follicles are heated for a few milliseconds, while the surrounding skin remains cool.
This makes the treatment noticeably less painful and far more comfortable.
A Gentle, Pleasant Treatment Experience
Tailored intensity:
Our specialists adjust the settings according to your personal sensitivity.Advanced cooling:
Throughout the entire session, the skin is cooled with very cold air.
Because the Thunder MT works without direct skin contact, the cooling air can flow continuously over the skin — much more effective than cooling gels used with diode or IPL systems.
Well tolerated:
Most clients find the treatment to be low-pain or even completely pain-free.No anesthesia needed:
Numbing is not required. However, if desired, you may take a light pain reliever (e.g., paracetamol) before your appointment.

3. Am I a Suitable Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is an effective method for long-term hair reduction—but not all hair and skin combinations respond equally well.
Ideal Conditions for Successful Treatment
Hair Color
Laser hair removal works best on hairs rich in melanin:
Black
Brown
Dark blonde
Very light, grey, white, or red hair contains little to no melanin, which the laser cannot effectively detect.
Skin Type
Thanks to the combined Alexandrite & Nd:YAG technology of our Thunder MT system, we can safely and effectively treat almost all skin types, from very light to very dark.
Lighter skin tones respond extremely well to the Alexandrite laser.
Darker skin tones are treated safely with the Nd:YAG laser, which avoids pigment irritation.
General Health
You should be in good health and free from skin infections or conditions in the treatment area.
Some medications (such as photosensitizing drugs or certain acne treatments) may increase sensitivity—please inform us before treatment.
No Recent Tanning
Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, or self-tanners for 4 weeks before and after treatment to prevent pigmentation issues.
Who Is Less Suitable?
Laser hair removal may be less effective or should be postponed in cases of:
Very light, red, or grey hair (low melanin levels)
Recently tanned or sunburned skin
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Active skin conditions or infections
Use of photosensitizing medications
Unsure if You're a Candidate?
We offer a free consultation including a test treatment so you can find out effortlessly.
4. How old do you have to be for laser hair removal?
Minimum age for treatment
At Me Esthetic and Skin Clinic Dermonde, the minimum age for laser hair removal is 14 years.
For anyone under 18 years, a parent or legal guardian must provide written consent.
A body that is still developing
The age limit is not only based on legal requirements — it also has biological reasons.
During puberty, the body undergoes significant hormonal changes, which can trigger new hair growth even after laser treatment. This means that results in very young clients may be less predictable or less permanent.
To ensure reliable and satisfying results, we generally recommend starting laser hair removal from the age of 18.
Laser hair removal for young men
Treatment success always depends on your skin type, hair type and gender.
Especially in young men, long-lasting results may require more sessions compared to men later in life.
While women typically respond very well to permanent hair removal with the Thunder MT Alexandrite & ND:YAG laser, men are influenced by two key factors:
Hair colour
Age
In general, men over 30 years old show significantly better and more stable results. When we previously worked with IPL and diode lasers, results—especially for male clients—were often limited. With our current technology, treatment outcomes have improved substantially, but age still plays an important role.
5. Can red, blonde, and white hair be treated with laser hair removal?
Unfortunately, no. Even the advanced Thunder MT Alexandrite/ND:YAG laser system cannot permanently remove white, red, or very light blonde hair.
Why doesn’t laser hair removal work on light hair?
Laser hair removal relies on the absorption of light by melanin – the pigment that gives hair its color.
Dark hair (black, brown, dark blonde) contains plenty of melanin, allowing the laser to heat and disable the hair follicle effectively.
White, grey, red, and very blonde hair, however, contain very little to no melanin.
As a result, the laser cannot “see” these hairs, making the treatment ineffective.
Are there alternatives for light hairs?
For clients with red, blonde, or white hair, laser hair removal is unfortunately not a viable solution.
However, there is one effective alternative:
Electrolysis (needle epilation)
Works independently of hair color
A fine probe is inserted into each hair follicle to destroy it with electrical current
Ideal for small areas such as the face, chin, or upper lip
Since each hair is treated individually, this method is not suitable for large body areas
6. Laser Hair Removal & Tattoos – Is It Possible?
Laser hair removal cannot be performed directly over a tattoo.
Tattoos contain pigments that absorb laser energy. During treatment, the laser would not only target the hair follicles but also the ink particles within the tattoo. This can lead to:
Damage or fading of the tattoo
Burns or scarring
Strong skin irritation
What is possible?
Treatment around the tattoo:
We can safely perform laser hair removal around the tattooed area to achieve a clean, hair-free appearance while fully protecting the tattoo.
Personalized consultation:
If you have a tattoo in the area you’d like treated, we will assess it carefully and discuss the safest treatment approach with you.
7. What is the best laser system for permanent hair removal?
Permanent Hair Removal with the Thunder MT Laser System at Me Esthetic
At Me Esthetic, we use the Thunder MT laser system to help you achieve long-lasting, permanent hair reduction on all areas of the body—quickly, safely and effectively. In most cases, hair in the treated area grows back only minimally or not at all.
The Thunder MT is currently the newest and most advanced Alexandrite / ND:YAG laser system available on the market.
Why don’t all clinics use the Thunder MT if it’s the best?
Quality comes at a price.
A fully equipped Thunder MT laser system costs approximately CHF 110,000, plus annual maintenance fees of around CHF 6,000.
Because of these high costs, many clinics choose cheaper alternatives such as diode lasers or IPL devices—even though these systems offer significantly lower performance and versatility.
For many providers, the cost factor is the main reason they avoid investing in premium technology.
Why do we at Me Esthetic choose the Thunder MT?
At Dermonde – Me Esthetic, we consciously choose the absolute best technology available.
Our goal is to provide you with:
The most effective hair removal
The safest treatment experience
The highest level of comfort
The Thunder MT stands out not only because it combines both Alexandrite and ND:YAG wavelengths, but also because of its integrated scanner technology and powerful cold-air cooling system.
This combination enables faster, more precise, and more comfortable treatments—at any time of the year and for every skin type.
Our commitment to quality
We invest in premium technology because your results matter.
With the Thunder MT, you benefit from:
maximum efficiency
superior safety
exceptional comfort
industry-leading treatment outcomes
Quality, safety, and effectiveness are our top priorities—and that’s why we use the Thunder MT.
8. How Does Permanent Laser Hair Removal Work?
Permanent laser hair removal is based on a highly precise technology that uses concentrated light energy to disable hair follicles and prevent future hair growth. Here’s a clear breakdown of how the process works:
The Principle of Selective Photothermolysis
The laser emits light pulses that are absorbed by the pigment (melanin) within the hair.
The melanin captures this light energy and converts it into heat.
Destruction of the Hair Follicle
The generated heat is transferred into the hair follicle, damaging it in a way that prevents it from producing new hairs.
However, the laser can only effectively target hairs that are currently in the active growth stage — the anagen phase.
Why Multiple Sessions Are Necessary
Not all hairs grow at the same time.
Only 15–20% of the hairs in a given area are in the anagen phase at once.
For this reason, several treatments are required to ensure all hairs are targeted during their growth cycle and can be permanently reduced.
Effect on the Skin
The laser light is precisely calibrated to target melanin in the hair, not the surrounding skin.
This significantly minimizes the risk of skin irritation or damage.
Advanced devices like the Thunder MT also use powerful cold-air cooling, which protects the skin throughout the session and enhances comfort.
Benefits of Laser Hair Removal
Permanent Hair Reduction:
With multiple sessions, hair growth is drastically reduced — hairs grow back slower, finer, and often not at all.
Fast & Efficient:
Modern platforms such as the Thunder MT deliver faster, more effective treatments compared to older technologies.
Suitable for Many Skin Types:
Thanks to advanced Alexandrite- and ND:YAG-based systems, even darker skin tones can be treated safely and effectively.
Conclusion
Laser hair removal is an exceptionally effective method for long-term hair reduction, combining advanced technology with precise application. Because the laser only works during the hair’s active growth stage, multiple sessions are essential for full results. With the right technology and experienced specialists, you can enjoy smooth, hair-free skin — safely and permanently.
9. What Is the Difference Between IPL, Diode Laser, Alexandrite and ND:YAG?
Comparing the Technologies: IPL, Diode Laser, and Alexandrite/ND:YAG
There are several technologies used for hair removal, each with its own advantages and limitations. When comparing IPL, diode lasers, and Alexandrite/ND:YAG lasers, it becomes clear that the Alexandrite/ND:YAG combination (as used in the Thunder MT system) is the most effective and safest option.
Here is a detailed breakdown:
1. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
Technology
IPL is not a true laser. It uses a broad spectrum of light rather than a single wavelength.
The light is absorbed by melanin in the hair and also by pigments in the skin.
IPL is considered outdated and, in our opinion, should no longer be used for hair reduction.
Advantages
Lower cost for studios.
Can be used for other skin treatments (skin rejuvenation, acne therapy).
Disadvantages
Not precise: The broad light spectrum increases the risk of skin damage.
Less effective on darker skin or light hair.
Slower results and more sessions needed.
Generally lower efficiency compared to modern lasers.
Higher risk of burns or pigmentation issues.
2. Diode Laser
Technology
Uses a single wavelength (most commonly 800–810 nm).
The light is absorbed by melanin in the hair and penetrates deeper than IPL.
Advantages
More effective and precise than IPL.
Better performance on darker skin compared to IPL.
Disadvantages
Less versatile than Alexandrite/ND:YAG lasers.
Not ideal for fine or lighter hair.
Longer treatment times compared to advanced systems.
More discomfort during treatment.
Slower overall results; more sessions required.
3. Alexandrite / ND:YAG Laser (Thunder MT)
Technology
The Thunder MT combines two powerful laser sources:
Alexandrite (755 nm) → best for lighter skin types and finer hairs
ND:YAG (1064 nm) → safest and most effective for darker skin types
This dual-technology system allows deep penetration and highly precise energy delivery.
Advantages
Suitable for all skin types—from very light to very dark.
Fast & highly efficient thanks to its combined wavelengths and integrated scanner.
Long-lasting results: up to 80–90% permanent hair reduction after only a few sessions.
Exceptional safety: the advanced air-cooling system protects the skin at all times.
Minimal discomfort: the high energy efficiency paired with constant cooling makes treatments significantly more comfortable.
Highly versatile: effective across all body areas and skin tones.
Disadvantages
Higher cost: The Thunder MT is the most expensive technology to purchase and maintain.
Requires certified and experienced specialists.
Conclusion: Why the Alexandrite / ND:YAG Combination Is the Best Choice
The Alexandrite/ND:YAG combination—especially in the Thunder MT system—is the gold standard for permanent hair removal.
Here’s why:
Works safely and effectively on all skin types
Provides faster, more comfortable treatments
Delivers superior long-term results
Minimizes risks through highly precise energy delivery and advanced cooling
Outperforms IPL and diode lasers in both efficiency and safety
If you want the most advanced, safest and most effective technology for long-lasting hair removal, the Thunder MT Alexandrite/ND:YAG system is the clear leader.
10. Which hair and skin types can be treated?
Unlike IPL and diode lasers—which often perform poorly or carry a higher risk on darker skin—the Thunder MT can safely and effectively treat all skin types, from very light to very dark (Fitzpatrick types I–VI).
Light to medium skin types (I–III)
For lighter complexions with dark hair, the Alexandrite laser delivers exceptionally strong and precise results. It targets the melanin in the hair follicle highly efficiently, making it ideal for achieving fast and long-lasting hair reduction.
Darker skin types (IV–VI)
For deeper skin tones, the ND:YAG laser is used. Its longer wavelength penetrates deeper into the skin without being overly absorbed by the epidermal pigment. This makes it extremely safe for darker skin while still effectively targeting the hair follicles.
Why all skin types can be treated safely
The combination of Alexandrite and ND:YAG technology—unique to systems like the Thunder MT—allows the treatment parameters to be perfectly adjusted to each individual's skin and hair profile. This level of customization is not possible with IPL or standard diode lasers, which is why they often fail on darker skin or carry higher risks.
11. How should I prepare for laser hair removal?
Before your first treatment – What you need to know
Before we begin any laser treatment, we always conduct a thorough consultation. During this session, you will receive all essential information, we address your questions, and we perform a small laser test on your skin to determine the ideal settings.
Your initial consultation
Detailed explanation:
We walk you through the entire treatment process so you know exactly what to expect.
Test pulses:
We apply a few laser pulses to a small area of your skin to determine the optimal laser parameters for your skin and hair type.
Personalized guidance:
We review your skin condition, discuss medications you may be taking, and provide you with all important preparation instructions.
Important preparation guidelines before your treatment
Protect your skin from UV exposure
Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
Do not use self-tanning products—lighter, natural skin ensures better results.
Shave — don’t wax or epilate
Waxing, epilating, or plucking is not allowed 4 weeks before laser treatment.
These methods remove the hair root, and the laser needs the root to work effectively.
Please shave the treatment area 24–48 hours before your appointment so that slight stubble is still visible or palpable. This ensures optimum absorption of the laser energy.
Arrive relaxed
Stress can increase your sensitivity to discomfort. Try to come to your appointment relaxed.
Our friendly team will make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
12. Can I wear make-up before a laser treatment?
Important guidelines for the day of your laser session
No skincare or cosmetic products on the skin!
On the day of your laser hair removal treatment, please avoid applying any of the following products to the area being treated:
Make-up
Body lotion
Deodorant
Sunscreen
Day cream or moisturizers
Why is this important?
These products contain various ingredients that can react unpredictably when exposed to laser heat. This may:
Reduce the effectiveness of the treatment
Increase the risk of irritation or redness
Affect how evenly the laser energy is absorbed
Preparing your skin correctly
Optimal shaving for best results
Shave the treatment area 24–48 hours before your appointment, so that a very fine stubble is present.
This allows the laser to detect the hair more effectively and ensures maximum treatment efficiency.
13. Am I allowed to shave or wax between treatments?
Hair removal between laser sessions
Shaving & trimming are allowed
Between your laser sessions, you may shave or trim the hair at any time.
This does not affect the results of your laser treatment.
No waxing, epilating or sugaring
Methods such as:
Waxing
Epilating
Sugaring / sugaring paste
should be avoided, because they remove the hair together with the root.
Without the hair root, the laser cannot target the follicle — which would make the treatment less effective.
14. Do the treatments need to be done at fixed intervals?
Choosing the right interval between sessions is crucial for achieving effective and long-lasting hair reduction. With the Thunder MT — the most powerful laser system in the world — treatment intervals can be longer compared to IPL or diode lasers, since the hair follicles are destroyed more efficiently.
Recommended intervals:
Face: every 5–6 weeks
Upper body: every 8 weeks
Legs: every 12 weeks
Why are the intervals longer than with other methods?
With IPL and diode lasers, hair typically grows back within 4–6 weeks.
The Alexandrite & Nd:YAG technology of the Thunder MT, however, penetrates deeper and destroys the follicle more effectively.
This means:
The treated hairs grow back much more slowly, and
Longer intervals between sessions are possible — without reducing effectiveness.
Why shouldn’t treatments be done too early?
If treatments are performed too close together, they are less effective.
This is because:
Only hairs in the active growth phase (anagen phase) can be permanently destroyed.
Not enough hairs will be in this phase if the interval is too short.
By allowing more time between sessions, the hair has a chance to regrow into the correct phase — leading to better or equally good final results.
15. When will I see the first results?
Immediately after the treatment, the skin looks unchanged because the hairs are still inside the follicles. It takes around 2 weeks for the treated hairs to push out of the skin—after that, the treated area should appear completely hair-free.
The timing of your next session depends on the body area:
Face: approx. 4 weeks
Upper body: approx. 8 weeks
Legs: approx. 12 weeks
Fewer and finer hairs with every session
With each treatment, fewer hairs grow back—and those that do are much finer.
The Thunder MT Alexandrite/ND:YAG laser permanently destroys the hair follicles so they can no longer produce new hairs.
Long-lasting smooth skin
After completing the recommended number of sessions, the treated area stays hair-free long term.
In most cases, this results in complete and permanent hair removal.
Only in rare cases—usually due to hormonal changes—may some fine, new hairs appear later. These are typically very light and barely noticeable.
Important:
Between your sessions, you may shave, but do not wax, pluck, sugar, or epilate, as this removes the hair root and reduces the effectiveness of the laser treatment.
16. I have had several IPL or diode laser treatments. Can I switch to Alexandrite or ND:YAG without any issues?
Yes — switching from IPL or diode laser to the powerful Thunder MT Alexandrite/ND:YAG system is absolutely possible and, in many cases, highly recommended.
Higher effectiveness
Many clients who previously used IPL or diode lasers report unsatisfactory results or recurring hair growth. The Thunder MT destroys hair follicles much more efficiently, enabling truly permanent hair reduction.
Better treatment of dark hair & darker skin types
While IPL and diode lasers often struggle with lighter hair or darker skin tones, the Thunder MT Alexandrite/ND:YAG laser is designed to safely and effectively treat all skin types — including very dark skin.
Seamless continuation of previous treatments
Hair follicles that were not fully destroyed by IPL or diode lasers remain active. The Thunder MT can precisely target and eliminate these follicles, allowing the treatment to continue where previous technologies were insufficient.
17. What Is the SHR Method?
SHR stands for “Super Hair Removal.” It is not an independent technology, but rather a specific treatment mode in which very rapid, low-energy light pulses are repeatedly applied to the skin and hair follicles.
Our experience with SHR
We tested this method many years ago and were not convinced. Although the hair initially falls out after treatment, it always grows back – even after 20 sessions. We could not observe a truly permanent reduction.
Because of these weak and inconsistent results, we stopped offering SHR a long time ago. Most studios have reached the same conclusion and have discontinued this method as well – which is why you rarely hear about SHR today.
18. How should I take care of my skin after a laser treatment?
Proper aftercare is essential to protect your skin, avoid irritation, and ensure the best possible treatment results. Here’s what you should keep in mind:
Avoid sun exposure
Keep the treated area away from direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 3 days. Your skin is more sensitive after the treatment, and UV exposure can cause pigmentation changes.
If you must be outdoors, apply a high-protection sunscreen (SPF 50).
Avoid irritating products
For the first 24–48 hours, do not apply the following to the treated area:
Exfoliants
Perfume, deodorant
Makeup
Strongly fragranced skincare products
These can irritate the skin during the healing phase.
Be gentle with your skin
If the area feels warm or appears slightly red, soothing products such as Aloe Vera gel or Panthenol can help calm and hydrate the skin.
No plucking or waxing
Between sessions, shaving is fine — but do not wax, sugar, or pluck the hairs.
These methods remove the hair from the root, which would interfere with the effectiveness of the laser treatment.
Avoid excessive heat
For the first 24–48 hours, avoid:
Hot showers
Saunas
Intense workouts or sweating
This prevents additional irritation or inflammation of the skin.
Be patient
The treated hairs will begin to shed naturally after about 10–14 days.
Do not try to scratch, pull, or scrub them out — they will fall out on their own.

20. Do I need a consultation first, or can I start the laser treatment immediately during my first appointment?
We generally recommend scheduling an initial consultation before your first laser treatment. During this consultation, we explain the full treatment process, answer your questions, and perform a skin analysis to ensure the laser is suitable for your skin type. We also apply a test pulse to see how your skin responds.
In most cases, you can start your first treatment right after the consultation, as long as all requirements are met and no further clarifications are needed. If you prefer to only have the consultation first, that is completely fine as well.
If you wish to begin the treatment immediately after the consultation, please make sure that you have booked enough time for both – the consultation and the treatment.
Important for new clients
As a new client, you can only select the option “New client – 30 minutes.”
If you want to start the treatment right after your consultation:
Check how much time is required for your specific treatment in the duration list.
Add an additional 15 minutes to allow enough time for the consultation as well.
This ensures we can discuss everything thoroughly and still have enough time for your treatment.
If you prefer to start immediately without limitations
You may also book yourself as a returning client, as this gives access to longer time slots. However, new clients officially only have access to the 30-minute option.
21. I’m a man and can’t shave my back myself. What should I do?
We generally ask clients to shave the treatment area at home 24–48 hours before their appointment, as freshly shaved skin is ideal for the laser and ensures the best results. However, we make an exception for men when it comes to back treatments.
If you cannot shave your back yourself, we are happy to trim the area for you before the session. We understand that the back is difficult to reach, and we want to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible.
Please note:
We trim the hair, but a full wet shave is not performed in the studio.
Arriving with hair that is already trimmed short helps the laser treatment run faster and more effectively.
We’ll take care of the rest when you arrive!
22. How many treatments are necessary?
The number of sessions required for permanent hair reduction varies from person to person. Factors such as skin type, hair color, hair structure, and the area being treated all play an important role. In general, 6 to 8 sessions are needed to achieve optimal long-term results.
For men, more sessions are typically required – especially younger men up to around 30–35 years of age. This is due to stronger hair growth and higher hormonal activity.
Why multiple sessions?
Hair grows in different cycles (anagen, catagen, telogen). Laser treatment is only effective during the active growth phase (anagen phase). Since not all hairs are in this phase at the same time, several treatments are necessary to target all hair follicles effectively.
Recommended treatment intervals
Treatment intervals vary depending on the body area:
Face: approx. every 5–6 weeks
Upper body: approx. every 8 weeks
Legs: approx. every 12 weeks
These intervals ensure that enough hairs have entered the active growth phase for the laser to work effectively.
Maintenance treatments
After completing the initial treatment series, occasional follow-up sessions may be needed to remove remaining or newly emerging hairs.
Many clients at Skin Clinic Dermonde complete an initial series of 6–8 treatments, followed by one or two maintenance sessions per year to keep the results perfectly smooth and long-lasting.
23. Do men need more sessions than women?
In general, women require 6–8 sessions to achieve a nearly hair-free result. The only exceptions are the underarms and the face, where additional sessions may be necessary.
For men, the number of sessions depends strongly on age:
Younger men (up to approx. 30 years old):
Even with our highly effective Thunder MT Alexandrite/ND:YAG laser, long-term results are often limited. The reason: young men continue to develop new hair due to hormonal factors, which means the hair keeps growing back.
Men around 40 and older:
At this age, laser hair removal typically works very well, as natural hair growth decreases over time. The laser can therefore achieve more permanent and stable results.
Important distinction:
For women, age does not influence the success of the treatment. Regardless of whether they are young or older, the Thunder MT laser consistently delivers excellent results.
24. I would like to purchase a subscription for laser hair removal. What options are available?
We offer two flexible and customer-friendly subscription models designed to suit your needs:
6+2 Subscription (Prepaid Package)
Pay for 6 sessions in advance and receive 2 additional treatments completely free of charge!
If you change your mind later, we will refund any unused, prepaid treatments – a level of fairness that is far from standard in the industry.
Installment Plan (12-Month Payment Option)
Choose a package of 7 sessions, payable in 12 monthly installments, and you will receive the 8th session for free!
Why our model is fairer than most in the industry
Many studios do not offer refunds for prepaid packages.
We do things differently: you may cancel your contract early, and any unused sessions will be refunded.
This flexibility is important to us, as cancellations usually only occur in special situations such as pregnancy, relocation, or other personal circumstances.
At Dermonde, fairness and customer comfort come first.
25. What factors influence the number of sessions needed for women?
For women, hair thickness and hair color are the key factors that determine how many sessions are required for effective laser hair removal:
Thicker and darker hair responds best, meaning fewer sessions are usually needed to achieve long-lasting smoothness.
Thanks to the advanced Thunder MT Laser System, skin tone no longer plays a role. Women with darker skin and black hair benefit especially from the ND:YAG technology, which is safe and effective even on very dark skin types.
In contrast, other technologies such as Alexandrite lasers, diode lasers or IPL carry significant risks when used on darker skin tones:
Higher risk of burns and pigmentation changes
Ineffective results when lower energy levels must be used for safety
With the Thunder MT system, these limitations do not apply, allowing women of all skin types to receive consistent, safe, and effective treatments.
